Press Release Summary = A new federal flameproof law goes into effect this summer,
which mandates all mattress manufacturers to add dangerous and potentially
carcinogenic chemicals to all new mattresses sold in the United States.

Press Release Body = Germantown, MD, April 23, 2007 - On February 16, 2006, the CPSC
(a federal agency) passed a law that proposes to flameproof all mattresses sold in
the Unites States. This national law is going into effect on July 7, 2007. The
chemicals that mattress manufacturers will be using to accomplish this task are
highly poisonous and potentially carcinogenic, according to many scientific groups.
These toxins have been proven to leach through the mattress sheets and be absorbed
by humans.

There can be two pounds of poison in the surface of your mattress, mostly in the
form of boric acid, which is the active ingredient used in roach killer. There are
already 6,463 U.S. cases of Boric Acid poisoning each year in the United States, and
that number is expected to rise significantly with this new flameproof law. The
National Safety Council says 17,550 people die each year from "Accidental poisoning
by and exposure to noxious substances." This number now exceeds deaths from car
accidents, and will surely rise once this new law goes into effect.

Other chemicals include antimony, which is chemically identical to arsenic, a very
toxic poison.

What is the reason for this law? The CPSC hopes to save up to 270 people annually
after all existing mattresses are replaced. With 300 million people in the U.S.,
this puts a mattress fire risk at less than one in one million, odds that many
Americans are willing live with, to avoid being slowly poisoned by these flame
retardant chemicals.

Dr. Lawrence A. Plumlee, MD, states: "I know many chemically sensitive people who
do not tolerate treated mattresses. And how many are intolerant who don\'t know why
they can\'t sleep or feel bad?"

Margot Mayer-Proschel, PhD [Medical School Professor and researcher in
neurotoxicology], states: "I have yet to find a single scientific study that
supports the use of these chemical in mattresses and labels them as \"safe".

More information on this controversial law can be obtained from the following
informative websites, or by calling Dr. Kureshi at the number below. Licensed
doctors are allowed to prescribe 'chemical free" mattresses, to any consumer who
chooses not to sleep on a chemically treated mattress.

Conclusion:

With the passing of this new law, many unsuspecting Americans will be sleeping on
mattresses that are treated with poisonous and carcinogenic chemicals. It has been
proven that these chemicals will be absorbed into the bodies of these individuals,
and can cause serious illness, including cancer. There has been a large grassroots
driven opposition to this new law, although unsuccessful.

The law does allow for people to claim an exemption and buy 'chemical-free'
mattresses, with a prescription from their doctor. Strobel Manufacturing is the only
mattress manufacturer in the United States that still manufacturers 'chemical free'
beds.
